Return Policy
This return policy has three sections, The first one is for returning working non defective products and the 2nd part
covers how to return products which are defective & warranty policy for items that carry warranties and the final 3rd section is our miscellaneous return guidelines for certain products that have their own seperate return policy.
Our Return Policy for non defective items - We offer a 15-day money back guarantee on our self defense items. If you are not fully satisfied, you may return your order within 15 days from the actual delivery date you received your order. We only ask that you follow our guidelines when doing so. We do not pay for return shipping. Refunds are contingent upon inspection of item(s) once we receive it.
If you wish to return your order for a full refund (minus shipping), please follow the following guidelines below. Failure to do so will result in your order being sent back to you.
- Please contact us by email
for approval from us before returning your order. Provide your name, order number, order date, what you would like to return, daytime telephone number, and reason for the return. You MUST have approval from us to ship your order back to us within the 15 day period. NOTICE: If you don't contact us for approval and just send your order back to us, we will refuse your return and send it back to you, NO EXCEPTIONS!!
- IMPORTANT: Once we receive your email and give you approval for a return, we will send you an email with the instructions on how to return the item with our address where you send the returns to.
- All Returns for refund or exchange must be postmarked within 15 days of delivery date.
All delivery dates are kept on file here at Cook Self Defense
Products. If you are unsure of your delivery date, put your tracking number that we emailed you into the tracking mechanism at www.ups.com and you can confirm it. Returns received after 15 days will be refused and sent back to you.
- You are responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to
Cook Self Defense Products.
- VERY IMPORTANT - The product(s) must be returned in resaleable condition with all original packaging, accessories and accompanying literature. In addition the item, packaging, accessories & accompanying literature must be in the same condition it was when you received it or you WILL NOT get a refund and your item will be sent back to you. If we receive your product without the accompanying accessories and documentation, you will not get a refund or in store credit. If you lost something that goes with your order, you can not return it.
- Exchanges: You have the same time frame as you do to get a refund for exchanges, (15 days). You may exchange the product for any product and if the new product cost more, you will be billed the difference or if the product cost less than the exchanged item, you will be given a refund of that amount.We don't pay return shipping for a non-defective product exchange. You will be billed the shipping cost to the credit card you used. If you paid by money order, you must include the payment for the shipping cost ($6.95) with the exchanged item plus any additional amount you owe for exchanging the item for a higher priced item.
This following section is our return guidelines for defective products. Please follow ALL of the following guidelines when returning a defective item as our return policy guidelines above for non defective items doesn't apply here.
- As with any type of product line, there will occasionally be an item that just doesn't work. Rest assured that if you receive a defective product, we will repair or replace it for you and you will NOT be charged for shipping it back to you. You have 30 DAYS to return a defective item from the actual delivery date.
Cook Self Defense Products will not ship out a replacement until we receive the defective one first. At which time we will inspect for the defect, and repair the item, replace it, or refund your money accordingly. Note: If your product is found to be defective and you don't wish to have it repaired or exchanged for another, you may ask for a full refund on a defective product within the 30 day period. This is the only way we give refunds behond the 7 day period since the item's' is defective.
Upon receipt of a defective item, it will be carefully inspected and tested for a manufacturer's defect. If we find that it is not a manufacturer's defect or damaged due to customer misuse, we will not accept the return.We will notify you that we will not accept the return, at which time you can request for us to discard it, or return it back to you, at your cost for shipping.
To send back a defective product, please do the following:
- Please contact us by email
for an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.Provide your name, order number, order date, what you would like to return, daytime telephone number, and reason for return. The RMA number
must be on your return shipping label. If it is not, your
package may be refused and sent back to you.
- IMPORTANT - You are responsible for the cost of shipping the defective item back to
Cook Self Defense Products. We absolutely WILL NOT under any circumstances reimburse for the cost of shipping to send a defective item back to our supplier. NO EXCEPTIONS!!.
- WARRANTY POLICY - Items that have a warranty will state so on our website, or on the package of the product. Any product that does not state a warranty on our website or on the packaging is only warranted for manufactuer defect for 30 days. Warranty replacements will be fulfilled for MANUFACTURER DEFECT only. Wear and tear, customer misuse, etc. does not qualify for a warranty replacement. Items being return under warranty MUST be returned with original packaging, accessories, instruction manuals/pamphlets, etc. Failure to do so will result in warranty being voided and not fulfilled. Products being returned under warranty will be thoroughly inspected for the specified manufacturer defect and replaced accordingly. If its determined that its wear and tear and/or customer misuse the product will not be replaced. If the product returned does not qualify for a warranty replacement, we will notify you of such, and provide options for returning item back to you or for us to dispose of the item here. Refunds will not be given for products under warranty. Items that do not have a warranty cannot be returned outside 30 days of receipt. If you are needing to return an item to us under warranty, please follow the return policy guidelines above for defective products about requesting a RMA# and other procedures and state you have a item under warranty coverage that needs replaced.

MISCELLANEOUS Guidelines:
- DVDS - Since DVDS can be copied, there will not be any refunds given for returned DVDS. They can only be returned if defective and will be replaced. All sales final on DVDS.
- Pepper Sprays and Mace - All Pepper Sprays, Mace sprays and Animal sprays may only be returned for a refund if it is unopened in the packaging. NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES WILL BE GIVEN ON OPENED PACKAGES OF NON-DEFECTIVE PEPPER SPRAYS OR MACE SPRAYS. If you receive a defective pepper spray,Mace Spray or Animal spray, we will exchange it for another, issue you an instore credit or refund your money. Once opened, all sales are final (except defect) on pepper spray, Mace Sprays or Animal sprays.
- Air Tasers & All accessories
-All sales for Air Tasers and Air Taser accessories are final. No returns unless
its defective. If you return a defective Air Taser or accessory, it will be replaced and a new one will be sent to you
within the 30 day return period for defective items. However no refunds are given on defective air tasers, only a replacement one.
- Telephone Recorders
- All sales are final on all telephone recorders. It can be returned only if its defective. If its found to be defective, it will be replaced
and a new one will be sent to you. But no refunds will be given for defective telephone recorders. If defective they can only be sent back for replacement not a refund
within the 30 day return limit for defective items.
- Please send your return via UPS or FED EX since these methods
are easily trackable. If you prefer to use US Mail, please insure
the package and include delivery confirmation. It is the customers
responsibility to make sure the return gets to Cook Self Defense
Products.
